Mattel to abide by stricter standards

Toy giant Mattel has agreed to follow stricter safety standards regarding lead content in it’s toys.

Under the agreement, the company must pay $12 million out to different states. $260,000 will go to North Carolina.

More than 2 million Mattel and Fisher-Price toys manufactured in China were recalled in 2007 due to excess lead in the paint.
