Navassa house fire believed to be a result of arson

Leland police think arson caused a Navassa house fire two weeks ago.

Tuesday, police arrested James Hansford Skaggs and charged him with 2nd degree arson.

The fire broke out on November 30th on South Navassa Road.

The arrest resulted from a joint investigation into the incident by the Leland police and the State Bureau of Investigation.
