Public Utility Authority worker hit by a truck Thursday morning

A Public Utility Authority employee was hit by a pick-up truck today while installing sewer lines in Wilmington.

The accident happened around 7:00 this morning at a work site on South Kerr. The injured worker is at New Hanover Regional Medical Center Friday night in stable condition.

Officials say drivers need to pay better attention to crews working in clearly marked work zones. Utility authority crews are continuing their work on the sewer line. They hope to have Kerr Avenue clear later tonight.
