Southeastern NC will receive federal funds for food and shelters
Congressman Mike McIntyre announced Friday that southeastern North Carolina will receive over $600,000 in federal funds for food and shelters.
All five counties in our viewing area will receive money. New Hanover County will receive the most, about $124,000. All other counties received between $32,000 to $70,000.
Funds from the Emergency Food and Shelters Program assist more than 2,500 cities and counties across the nation to help the hungry and homeless.
