WPD responds to ‘accidental’ shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police officers were called to the 1600 block of West Drive Saturday in response to a shooting.

They say the victim was shot in the left shoulder one time and was taken to the hospital by relatives.
According to police, the victim said he was trying to break up an altercation when he was accidentally shot.

The shooting is still under investigation.
