UPDATE: Woman charged after high-speed chase that ended at grocery store
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Troopers with The Highway Patrol have released the name of the woman charged in a high speed chase from Sunday.
Troopers said Virginia Meghan Newberry, 25, of Durham was charged after troopers clocked her going more than 100 mph on Interstate 40 Sunday afternoon. Troopers said Newberry didn’t stop, continued on North College Road and pulled into a Lowes Foods parking lot where they said she ran into the store. Troopers also said she hit a patrol vehicle causing minor damage.
Newberry is facing a slew of charges including felony speeding to elude, driving with a revoked license and possession of marijuana.
No one was hurt in the chase.
