Homeless Man’s Body Recovered From Lake

Authorities recovered a body floating in the Greenfield Lake Sunday morning. Dispatch received a call around 8:30 Sunday morning from people who saw the body floating in the lake. Police believe the body is a homeless man. Police say the man died of natural causes and fell into the lake. After speaking with people who knew the man, police learned he may have had a medical problem.

Wilmington Police Detective Michael Overton said, “I spoke with some friends of his who saw him earlier this morning, and he said he wasn’t feeling well and was going to the hospital.” Police are not releasing his name until they notify his family.
