UPDATE: Others wanted in November Dublin murder arrested
BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — As Bladen County Sheriff’s deputies continue investigating a November murder in Dublin all four suspects are now behind bars.
Montise Arman Mitchell, 24, of Saint Pauls, Shanika Nicole Mitchell, 17, of Lumberton, and D’Nazya Sade Downing, 20, of Parktonwere were arrested and charged with first degree murder.
Deputies had said the crime happened when Council was driving an SUV with his brother as a passenger on November 8 when two men with guns shot into the vehicle.
They said Council was hit and crashed the SUV before his brother was able to get help. Council later died at the hospital.
Christopher Baldwin, 25, of Lumberton was arrested on December 2.
All four are being held without bond. According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, they have all had first appearance hearings and been assigned attorneys.
According to a release, Sheriff McVicker would like to give credit to Elizabethtown Police Dept., St. Pauls Police Dept., Lumberton Police Dept. and Robeson County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in locating and arresting these individuals. He said this was a team effort and without their help the arrests would have been far more difficult.
None of the suspects and no officers were injured in the arrests.
