Kids celebrate “Noon Year’s Eve”
Kids are usually in bed when the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, so they had their own countdown to 2009 at noon today.
Kids of all ages celebrated “Noon Year’s Eve” at the Children’s Museum of Wilmington.
Most families were from Wilmington, but some traveled all the way from Nashville, New York, and even Canada.
They blew noise makers, played hop scotch, and enjoyed a delicious treat of pretzels dipped in chocolate.
Alex Boahn of Wilmington said, “I got to throw confetti and make pretzels at noon. It was fun at noon because we didn’t have to wait until midnight.”
The kids had so much fun, and so much extra confetti. They decided to count down the New Year again before the party was over.
