The Producers makes its Wilmington debut

The popular production The Producers made its Wilmington debut Friday. News Channel 3 caught up with the cast and crew at Level Five at City Stage before Friday night’s show.

They have been busy preparing for the production, which has 21actors, and includes plenty of singing and dancing. For such an elaborate show in such a small venue, director Mike O’Neil had to get creative. “That was the great challenge, and the great reward is to make this show fit in here and I think we did a really great job of it,” said O’Neil.

“It’s a huge undertaking. Lots of sets, lots of costumes, lots of actors, but it’s been a lot of fun,” said actress Amy Tipton.

The Producers runs Friday through Sunday nights at Level Five at City Stage on Front Street in downtown Wilmington until February 1st.
