Perdue set to name more Cabinet secretaries
RALEIGH — Gov.-elect Beverly Perdue is rolling out more of her Cabinet picks.
Perdue scheduled a Monday morning news conference to announce her choices to lead several departments.
The outgoing lieutenant governor has already named leaders for the departments of correction, juvenile justice, and crime control and public safety. There are seven more Cabinet spots left to fill, including in the departments of transportation and health and human services.
Perdue has said she’s choosing agency leaders with a solid record of experience who also were willing to shake things up.
She’s telling her Cabinet secretaries to report back to her within 60 days and list to her five pressing needs within their departments.
Perdue’s inauguration as governor will be Saturday.
