Man pleads no contest to rape charge, victim speaks in court

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) —   A Brunswick County man will be spend more than three years behind bars for raping a co-worker. Luis Alberto Sanchez Campos pleaded no contest to second degree rape.

Prosecutors say he and the victim were friends and after a night out, they went back to her house, that’s where they say he raped her.

The victim spoke out in court about how difficult it has been since her rape.

“It’s hard to find sanctuary, it’s hard to get close to anyone,” said the victim.

Once he gets out Sanchez Campos will be on the sex offender registry for 30 years.
