Julia Boseman to run for county commissioner
WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — Former county commissioner and state Sen. Julia Boseman announced Wednesday that she plans to run for county commissioner in 2016.
“I really wanted to serve and help people,” Boseman said Wednesday morning. “It was an amazing privilege to have served before… I would like to jump back in and be a voice for the people.”
Boseman, the first openly gay member of the state General Assembly, was considered a rising star in state Democratic politics before personal and financial pressures contributed to her deciding in 2010 not to seek re-election.
