New Hanover County sex offender arrested in Alabama

A New Hanover County sex offender is behind bars after being arrested in Alabama.

US Marshals arrested 54-year-old William Goodson Jr. Tuesday morning while leaving his home in Dothan, Alabama.

A warrant had been out for Goodson since July 2005 when he did not notify the sheriff’s office of moving from his Carolina Beach home.

New Hanover County sheriff’s deputies are now working to extradite Goodson to Wilmington.
