New details released in shooting that hit several homes

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police have released new information on a Wilmington shooting that hit several homes.

The incident was reported last night after 7 p.m. in the 1500 block of S. 12th Street. At least five homes were hit by the gunfire, striking one man in the thigh while he was sitting on a porch. Police said he was released from the hospital and is believed to be an innocent bystander.

Witnesses say several black males wearing black hoodies were walking in the area and shooting. After the shots were fired, police said they all got in a two-door black vehicle.
