Fatal accident takes man’s life in Brunswick County

A sixty-year-old man is dead, after a car accident on Maco Road in Leland this morning.

Lyman Dickhaskett Jr. went off the road and hit a ditch; he then struck a tree, and flipped his truck.

Highway patrol pronounced him dead on the scene. It’s not clear what caused the accident, but authorities don’t suspect alcohol or drugs were a factor.
