Man fakes death in Florida plane crash
An Indiana businessman remains missing after he apparently faked a distress call and bailed out of his plane. The plane was apparently left on auto pilot before it crashed into a Florida swamp Sunday night.
Federal marshals are now actively looking for Marcus Schrenker.
They now say the man had stashed a motorcycle ahead of time in a storage unit not far from where he apparently bailed out. That motorcycle is now gone, replaced by the damp clothes he’d apparently been wearing.
The only sign of Schrenker has been an e-mail to a friend. In it, he says the situation was a misunderstanding, and hints that he may be about to take his life.
