Youngsters learn about forensics at Cape Fear Museum

The Cape Fear Museum of History and Science opened their doors to young investigators as they needed help finding some missing artifacts on Saturday.

Crime scene tape lined the Cape Fear Museum for a staged crime in which two precious artifacts were stolen and suspects were on the loose.

It was up to these kid detectives to crack the case.

Rebecca Worsley came to try to solve the mystery. “I’m really good at solving crimes, so I wanted to give it a shot.”

Kids combed through evidence and scoured the museum for clues. Hair analysis, fingerprints, and witnesses helped point these young sleuths in the right direction.

This was just one of the museum’s educational programs for children intended to peak curiosity and teach critical thinking.

The investigation pointed to five suspects from history, and everyone had their own idea of who was to blame.
