Murrills stop by WWAY before heading off to Grammy Awards

A Wilmington family turned gospel group is getting ready for this weekend’s Grammy awards.

The Murrills’ debut album “Family Prayer” is nominated for Best Contemporary R-and-B Gospel Album at Sunday’s awards show in Los Angeles.

The five brothers and their sister are excited about the trip and walking the red carpet. While they said just being nominated is an honor, Darwin Murrill said if they win, he just might lose his cool.

“No matter how together we feel that we are, I feel that it’s going to be very emotional, because it’s more than just an award for us. Like my brother said, my mom has raised us to do this type of work, and to finally see things flow to fruition, it’s really surreal.”

The Murrills stopped by Good Morning Carolina on WWAY Monday morning.
