2 teens killed in NC wreck after running stop sign
SHERRILLS FORD, N.C. — Two teens have been killed in a wreck after their sedan ran a stop sign and was struck by two sport utility vehicles near the North Carolina town of Sherrills Ford.
The Charlotte Observer reported that the wreck happened Sunday afternoon on a rural road in Catawba County. The teens’ vehicle ran a stop sign and was struck by the SUVs.
Highway Patrol Trooper Steve Tabbet identified the victims as 16-year-old Hayden Griffith, who was driving the car. The passenger was 15-year-old Lindsay Barosci.
The trooper said both victims died at the scene and that neither alcohol nor high speed was involved. Both victims were wearing seat belts.
