Columbus County man finds himself back in jail

Just four days after being released from prison, a Columbus County man is back in jail.

Gerald McCutchen was arrested Monday night and charged with robbing Mae’s Coffee Shop in Whiteville.

Police said he left the scene after the robbery, and was later caught as he drove back by. McCutchen was released from prison on Friday, after serving time for possession of stolen goods.

He is now being held in the Columbus County jail under $25,000 bond.
