Having a healthy heart on Valentine’s Day

Dozens showed their support for heart-health on Valentine’s Day by wearing red to the Fifth Annual Heart Disease Luncheon.

Everyone walked away with information on how to lead a healthy life. Many sponsors also supplied some heart healthy food for attendees to take home.

“Take it back to their daily lives, eat better, rest more, reduce the stress, exercise and by all means get comfortable with your doctor and have a dialogue,” said Cynthia Brown, the executive director of NHC Community Action.

Heart disease is still the leading cause of death in women in the United States.
