UPDATE: Stabbing victim released from hospital


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A spokesperson with Wilmington Police said the victim of a stabbing incident near Pine Valley and South College Road has been released from the hospital.

Police are still searching for a suspect at this time.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday night.

When officers arrived, they found a 17-year-old male who had been stabbed in the thigh. The victim said he got into an argument with a tall, medium built male in his late teens, who then stabbed him.

Initially, New Hanover County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene because it was reported that the stabbing occurred on Burbank Road, which is outside of city limits.
