Shots fired near New Hanover High last night

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say shots were fired last night near New Hanover High School.

Police say calls came in around 7:30 p.m. about gunshots at the intersection of 13th and Dock streets as New Hanover played Laney in basketball a block away at Brogden Hall.

WPD says its ShotSpotter system alerted that three shots were fired. Officers got information about three black males in a two-door black Acura. When officers stopped a vehicle matching the description with three black males inside they did not find a weapon, and no one was arrested.

The investigation continues.
