Deputies investigating after man stabbed in street fight

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies in Brunswick County are investigating after they say a man was stabbed during a fight in the street earlier tonight.

A spokeswoman with the sheriff’s office says it happened around 6 p.m. on Grist Creek Wynd near Northwest. She says it all started with an argument that led to a fight between family, and left a man stabbed.

William Edward Kelly, 33, of Tabrose Court, Leland, has been arrested for two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
He is currently being held in the Brunswick County detention Facility under a $2,000 bond. Kelly is charges with hitting a female victim in the head with a wooden board and stabbing a male victim.

Kelly was taken into custody shortly being located with the aid of Air One.
