Rouzer’s GOP challenger visits Port City

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A former Congressional district Republican Party chairman is running for tHe 7th District US House seat. Thursday he was in Wilmington.

Mark Otto is a former supporter of incumbent Rep. David Rouzer. Otto said conservative Republican values are being compromised with certain decisions being made specifically when it comes to issues like Planned Parenthood funding.

Otto said he is a staunch conservative and he plans on taking those values to Washington.

“I think there’s certain core conservative values that should never be traded. Or sacrificed for political power or political favors ever, is there room for compromise on congress of course for certain things,” said Otto.

Otto is a former financial analysis. About five years ago he took up a new career path officiating sports games.

He said one thing he wants to focus on is not increasing the national debt.
