Snipes Elementary gets artistic for Black History Month

Black History Month is drawing to a close, but students at Snipes Elementary School are still celebrating.

All month long, students have been learning about the achievements of African Americans. As a culmination, students performed, created artwork and acted as part of a living wax museum; keeping with the purpose behind snipes academy arts and design.

Snipes instructional supporter, Carolyn Williams said, “They’ve had an opportunity to perform which is what we try and do here at Snipes. They’ve learned a lot more maybe about people they didn’t know so much about.”

Each grade level participated and walked away with a bit more knowledge of black history.
