UNCW becomes prepared for crisis situations
UNC Wilmington has just been recognized as the first institution of higher education in the state to complete a FEMA-approved crisis mitigation plan.
About 25 institutions nationwide have this designation, which means the university is prepared for crisis situations like hurricanes, winter storms, or a terrorist attack.
In addition, UNCW is one of only 14 universities in the nation to be certified as storm-ready by the National Weather Service.
