UNCW nursing students host health fair
Some UNCW nursing students got the chance to get out of the classroom for their own health fair.
Dozens of UNCW nursing students hosted a health fair at the Martin Luther King Community Center. The fair was geared towards helping seniors age healthy. The fair offered activities, demonstrations and health screenings.
“There’s not a lot of positive that goes into aging, and this type of venue gives them the opportunity to see older adults that are healthy and active and having a good time,” said UNCW School of Nursing lecturer, Melissa Aselage.
The hands-on fair gave students a chance to interact with the public in preparation for a career in health care.
