Airlie Gardens needs volunteers for ‘Tree Mob’

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It’s a flash mob … nature style.

Airlie Gardens is creating Wilmington’s first ever tree mob. Over the years, storms have taken a toll on their tree canopy and there are now some spots that need filling in. Just last year, during a minor storm, Airlie lost five trees.

Airlie Gardens needs to plant more than 400 trees. They’re asking volunteers to join them from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 6.
