Brunswick Co. man charged after overnight search involving SWAT team

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies said a Sunset Beach man is facing drug charges after an early-morning search. He’s also facing charges in South Carolina.

Michael Tykee Leach, 27, was arrested this morning on charges including felony possession of cocaine and other drug charges, according to a news release. Deputies said he is also facing four counts of attempted murder and other charges in Horry County.

The arrest came after a search of his home in the 7800 block of Ocean Highway in Sunset Beach.
