SUV hits man walking with moped

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say a man walking his moped across the intersection of MLK Parkway and North Kerr Ave. was hit by a SUV this morning.

The victim was taken to the hospital, but police say the ambulances lights were not on, so they do not believe the man has life-threatening injuries.

Police could not tell us whether speed or slick road conditions were a factor, but they do caution drivers to slow down as the roads become icy.
