Ferry service limited

If you’re planning on taking the Southport – Fort Fisher ferry this weekend, you may want to re-think your route.

The DOT has suspended half of its runs while mechanics work on the engine of one of the two ferryboats.

Normally, ferries run every forty-five minutes, but due to the repair work there are gaps in the run times during the middle of the day.

You can check the schedule by calling 1-800-NCFERRY. The repair work is expected to last through Monday.
