BOLIVIA, NC (StarNews) — A judge in Brunswick County on Friday declared a hung jury in the case of a Sunset Beach man accused of indecent liberties with a minor.
Jurors were unable to reach a verdict after deliberating for four hours Friday. The final vote was 11-1 in favor of a conviction.
Jay Johnson Waugh Jr., 33, was charged with one count of indecent liberties with a minor. Before testimony began Tuesday, prosecutors dismissed a charge of second-degree sexual offense against Waugh.
