Police find gambling, drugs, sex in NC warehouse
CHARLOTTE — Police say they found a late-night operation that provided gambling, drugs and sex to high-rolling customers in an old Charlotte warehouse.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg County police raided the operation on a back road to the city airport earlier this month, seizing $40,000 in cash and arresting three people.
The Charlotte Observer reported Friday that a search warrant affidavit said an informant told detectives that the club catered to the wealthy and some former pro sports stars who paid for high-stakes gaming and on-demand sex and drugs.
The affidavit also said the operation was believed to bring in as much as $300,000 a week. Police said a membership in the club cost $1,500 and half would be returned after a year.
