Moped driver gets into accident with four-year-old as passenger

A four-year-old is not supposed to be a passenger on the back of a moped. But that is what was happening today in Wilmington, when the moped was hit by a car.

The driver of a Toyota Corolla hit the moped around 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, after making a left turn from Wrightsville Avenue onto Colonial Drive.

Both the moped driver and the four-year-old boy were taken to New Hanover Regional. Their injuries are not considered to be life threatening.
