NC police examine phone, computer of slain nurse
FAYETTEVILLE — Investigators have examined the cell phones, a computer and other devices that belonged to an Army nurse whose dismembered body was found in a shallow grave in North Carolina last summer.
The Fayetteville Observer reported Wednesday that a search warrant was granted last month to allow Fayetteville police detectives to examine the items that were in the department’s
custody.
Police have said that 24-year-old 2nd Lt. Holley Wimunc was killed at her Fayetteville apartment. Her body had been burned when it was found.
Wimunc’s estranged husband, 23-year-old Marine Cpl. John Patrick Wimunc of Camp Lejeune, is charged with first-degree murder.
