Skateboarders show off their skills

There were crowds all over downtown Wilmington Saturday at the Azalea Festival. One event that had everybody “ooh-ing” and “ahh-ing” turned out to be the skateboard trick contest at the intersection of 2nd and Market.

The competition was held under a jam format. Contestants and on-lookers shared plenty of spills and thrills.

The skateboard ramp will remain open until Sunday afternoon.
