Wilmington attorney Tom Pollard announces retirement

The City of Wilmington’s top attorney has announced his retirement. After almost 27 years in his position, City Attorney Tom Pollard will retire in June.

Pollard is not accepting an early retirement package or incentive deal. He said it is just time. “It’s just time for me to move on, I don’t have any real plans,” he said. “The city is certainly in good hands, there are very bright and intelligent and devoted people working for the city.”

City Council will appoint Pollard’s replacement. Pollard said there are several capable attorneys on staff.
