Perdue highlights NC work force development
RALEIGH — Gov. Beverly Perdue says she’s working to get more people working in North Carolina.
Perdue planned a work force development announcement Thursday at the children’s emergency department at Wake Med hospital in Raleigh. She’ll be joined by state community college system
President Scott Ralls and state Commerce Secretary Keith Crisco.
Perdue said the announcement is part of her “Jobs NOW” initiative, designed to train students at community college campuses and through vocational education for high-growth careers.
Her state budget proposal included money to hire faculty to train more nurses and to focus on transportation, military and green technology sectors.
