NC woman accused of taking $147,000 from company
GREENSBORO — A North Carolina woman has been arrested and accused of taking more than $147,000 from the corporate headquarters of The Fresh Market.
The News & Record of Greensboro reported that 36-year-old Amanda Hanes Womble of Winston-Salem was arrested Wednesday. She’s charged with one count of embezzlement of more than $100,000.
Womble worked as the supervisor for the supermarket company’s accounts payable department. Warrants state that the money was taken between June 2007 and March 2009.
It was unclear if Womble had an attorney.
