NC agency cancels resort meeting because of budget
RALEIGH — The state agency that manages development on the North Carolina coast is canceling its April meeting at a resort because of restrictions on travel.
The North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission planned a meeting April 29-30 at Sea Trail Resort in Sunset Beach. A commission spokesman said the meeting was canceled because the state had ordered restrictions on travel because of declining state revenues.
The agency said public hearings scheduled for the meeting on proposed rule changes will be rescheduled. The commission may have its April meeting in another location, but spokesman Jamie Kritzer said no decision had been made.
