Hands on Wilmington beautifies city
Hundreds of people from around the community came together for to make Wilmington a better place on Saturday.
Hands on Wilmington challenged volunteers to complete an assigned beautification project in various places throughout the city.
Projects included planting trees and painting.
Commander Wes Schlauder of the USS North Carolina SSN 777 was there to help out. “Our trip down to Wilmington this weekend was primarily to participate in the hands on Wilmington event today where we conducted landscaping work around New Hanover High School.”
Hands on Wilmington takes place one Saturday during the month of April each year.
