UPDATE: Victim’s name released in Bladenboro shooting death

BLADENBORO, NC (WWAY) — There are new details on a Monday morning shooting death in Bladenboro.

Police Chief Chris Hunt said Patricia Lynn Cooper,38, died from a single gun shot wound. When emergency crews arrived at the apartment complex at 428 Ash Street around 2:30 a.m., they said Cooper was still breathing.

Hunt said investigators don’t know if it is a murder investigation at this point. But, they said Johnny Yarbrough, the victim’s ex-boyfriend, is a person of interest. Yarbrough told police Cooper showed up at his home the same morning she died.
