Wilmington Christian Academy students give back to the community

Some kids proved Friday, that you do not need a holiday or a special occasion to give back to the community.

Middle school students from Wilmington Christian Academy visited the Good Shepherd shelter today. They brought more than 900 donated flip-flops and socks with them, which were handed out to residents.

“It’s really important that they have something to wear on their feet. This is just our way of giving back to the community,” said Wilmington Christian Academy 8th grader Matt Vanderwal.

All the donated items will be put to good use by residents at the shelter.
