Overturned tractor-trailer causes big traffic backups

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An accident involving an 18-wheeler has caused big backups near the New Hanover and Brunswick County line.

The accident happened near the truck stop on US 421 in the southbound lanes near the Isabel Holmes bridge and the Battleship NC. Traffic in both ways was delayed due to the crash.

According to F.T. Norton with the StarNews, the NCDOT said the traffic backups could continue until 3 p.m.
