Coty cutbacks could be felt by other area businesses

Cosmetic company Coty announced Thursday that more than 500 people will lose their jobs due to cutbacks at Leland and Rocky Point facilities.

Coty employees aren’t the only ones who will be affected; nearby businesses that have Coty employees as customers will also suffer from the cutbacks.

Paul’s Place Famous Hot Dogs in Rocky Point is a popular spot for Coty workers to eat at lunch or after work.

Owner Dave Pauls said without them coming in from down the street, his business will take a hit.

“It probably means 100 dollars a day in revenue, maybe more. We won’t know until we see, it’s a domino effect here.”
