Trask student-athletes sign to play college hoops
Two student athletes at Trask High School in Rocky Point signed Wednesday to play college basketball.
Edward Lewis signed with Wingate University while Kimani Hill will play at Lenior Community College in Kinston.
Their jump to college basketball means a big hole to fill for Trask coach Scott Slocum, but both Titans are ready for the next level.
“This is very special to me. I’m glad my friends, family and coaches all believe in me,” said Edward Lewis.
“I’ve been playing basketball since I was five years old and never thought putting a ball in the basket would get me this far in life,” said Kimani Hill.
Hill said basketball makes him work hard in the classroom as well.
