Reward offered for information related to Corey Vann murder

The family of a New Hanover County man found shot to death earlier this year is getting desperate for answers. There has not been an arrest in the murder of Corey Vann, who was shot in the head along River Road in January.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating, but so far its leads have led nowhere. Now, Vann’s mother is offering a $2,500 reward to anyone with information. “I don’t know if they’re scared to come forward, or what, but I just feel like somebody knows something,” said Corey’s mother Julie Covey. “I’m just hoping that this will help them, motivate them a little bit more, to please come and not let this go on any longer.”

The $2,500 Covey is offering comes from a fundraiser bake sale and a memorial fund set up in her son’s name.

Anyone with information is asked to call the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
