NC investigators seek sitter who left with child
RAEFORD, N.C. — Investigators in North Carolina are looking for a 17-year-old girl who ran away from home last week with a 9-month-old she was baby-sitting.
Hoke County Sheriff’s officials say they think the pair went to Georgia or Alabama on a bus Saturday.
Capt. John Kivett says investigators don’t know what prompted the sitter to leave with the baby, who she was keeping while the child’s mother went away for the weekend.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is distributing posters about the case.
Kivett said no Amber Alert was issued because the baby isn’t thought to be endangered.
